Brothers and Sisters!

Assalam o Alleyykum!

Food is necessities of life to keep body and soul together. When anyone is hungry or thirsty it becomes difficult for him to use his abilities and faculties at optimum level. So it is important to store the eatable items cooked, uncooked and otherwise, so that at the appropriate times one can dispose of his hunger and thirst.

Brothers and Sisters! If you had read article: Principal Naseer Aziz under category Profile you must have come across the following paragraph:

After rendering services in accountancy profession for six months it was realised that it has become impossible to earn Rizq e Halal. I and my wife discussed the issue and started catering business of Kebab and Samosa at small scale with a view to expand it and turn it to Frozen Food Industry.

Brothers and Sisters! At the time in the year 1989 there was no Frozen Food Industry in Pakistan. As below is the chronology how the project: Call for Peace set off to create Frozen Food Industry in Pakistan which over the years spread all over the world in respect of Asian Food items.

·                     Initially Shami Kebabs and Samosas were supplied to bakeries, college canteens and otherwise. The idea was that gradually the Frozen Food Industry will be extended to fresh vegetable, chicken and lamb and beef meat.

·                     When the items became popular the other items were introduced e.g. meat samosas, Chinese vegetable and chicken rolls, steamed kebabs, koftay, and otherwise.

·                     Gradually the super stores and corner shops were approached to sell the Frozen Food Items. Alhamdu’lillah! They welcomed the items.

·                     Alhamdu’lillah! Built two story house: ground floor and first floor. Ground floor for residence and upper floor for Frozen food business. We moved from my parent’s house to our own home.

·                     At that time there were 8 large size freezers. This was the time to expand the Frozen Food Industry at large scale.

·                     We moved in our house in June 1992. In August 1992 my sister in law, wife’s sister, passed away at Manchester in England. Her husband and children brought her body in Pakistan for burial. Her death was a great shock for whole family, especially for her husband and children, three sons and one daughter, the youngest son was five year old and the other two son and daughter were in their teen ages. They had no relatives in Manchester.

·                     In short, they needed someone who can help them to overcome the shock of their lives and their demand was that someone ought to accompany them to Manchester for some time. I considered the issue carefully. I had the British passport and British driving license and knew the bounds of Manchester. I consulted my wife that, it appears to be that I am the only one who can help them to overcome the shock of her sister’s husband and children and I should accompany them. She agreed.

·                     I accompanied them to Manchester. Alhamdu’lillah! Within eight months they began to live with shock of their lives where I decided to go back to Pakistan.

·                     During my stay in Manchester with the family I worked as a sub – contractor for a firm of professional accountants and also created Frozen food Industry by introducing Shami Kebab and Steam Kebabs and supplied to corner shops. This was welcomed. Alhamdu’lillah!  I wanted to bear my outgoings. However, this was the base of Frozen Food Industry in the United Kingdom. Incidentally, I paid my own fare to accompany the family.

·                     Before coming back to Pakistan I stayed with one of my friends at Bury in UK to recover some of professional fee from the clients that was outstanding when I sold the accountancy practice in the year 1988.

·                     My friend with his wife and brother in law were going for Hajj in May 1993. My friend asked me to sleep in Masjid near to his house as a watchman.

·                     My friend came back after performing Hajj on 8 June 1993. On 10 June 1993 my friend came after dawn to offer Fajar Salat and found me covered in blood. In short, ambulance and police was called and was admitted in hospital. The analysis of the assault depicted that an iron bar was used first to hit my head to make me unconscious and thereafter hit, more or less, every bone of my body where my lower part of left leg and former part of the right arm was broken. When I got awake I was told that I was unconscious for four days. My left leg and right arm was in plaster.

·                     During my stay with my friend I also started to introduce Shami and Steam Kebab to the corner shops.

·                     I came back to Pakistan in August 1993 for recovery. However, I have to come back to England in August 1994 for further treatment and stayed in London. I was under the care of six consultants:

o   Orthopedic

o   Neurologist

o   Psychologist

o   Psychiatric

o   Physiotherapist

o   Gastrologist

·                     My second visit to England was the base to start of project: Call for Peace officially that is different subject matter. Please read Post: How project: Call for Peace emerged officially?

Back to How Asian Food Items Got Promoted Locally, Nationally and Internationally?

Brothers and Sisters! As below is the chronology how Frozen Food Industry in Asian Items developed locally, nationally and internationally:

·                     When customers of the bakeries, super stores and students of the colleges enjoyed the taste of kebab, samosas, chines rolls and otherwise, urge developed in the hearts of household customer to make these items and supply to the outlets locally. In other words it was a start of Cottage Industry.

·                     As the Cottage Industry was flourishing, then the businessmen were inspired to start the Asian Frozen Food Industry at large scale nationally, and included items of fresh vegetable, meat, chicken fish, Parathas, chapaties, different kinds of curries, etc. etc.

·                     From national level, the Asian Frozen Food Industry was taken over at international level. Now in foreign countries where there is Asian community, even the Non-Muslim Super Stores also have Asian Frozen Food section. Alhamdu’lillah! The foreigners are also enjoying the taste of Asian items.

Outcome of the Creation of Asian Frozen Food Industry

Brothers and Sisters! This is how the Asian Frozen Food Industry, basically, created by project: Call for Peace got promoted locally, nationally and internationally and also created lot of jobs at every level and increase in GDP of every county of the world.
